We were asked to improve the toilet area in a commercial building in colchester, The main toilet block area was used for refuge collection operators which required some extensive works after years of use. The smaller ladies w/c required a modernisation and a warmer feel.
WORKS COMPLETED TO THE MAIN TOILET AREA:
The main toilet block required extensive works due to a leak that had been unresolved for some time. This leak had damaged the walls, floor and vanity units. We removed everything and placed a dehumidifier in the room to draw out as much of the moisture as possible completing damp checks regularly before proceeding with further works.
Once the walls and floor were dry we installed new vanity units and basins with a multi panel wall boarding surround for a more durable stylish and modern finish. The urinal was turned adding multi panel boarding behind and a new cistermiser for economical use of the water. The toilet was also changed with a concealed cistern again for a more modern look.
We upgraded the lighting, heater and added new trunking where needed.
The room was then painted with diamond eggshell paint to allow for more durable and washable walls which are ideal for a toilet area like this.
The flooring was also replaced with new polysafe flooring, this is ideal for this area.
WORKS COMPLETED TO THE LADIES W/C:
This w/c was for disabled use which is why there was metal railings installed. However, this room has been repurposed to be used as a ladies toilet only so we removed the railings including all the boxing which housed the old toilet cistern.
Behind the toilet was boxed out to allow for another concealed cistern and we cladded this again with the multi pane boarding. This is such a good product for this type of installation as its easily cleaned and maintained.
We added a small vanity unit which houses a small instantaneous water heater which means the unsightly over sink water heaters were not needed.
This room was again painted using the durable Diamond eggshell paint from Dulux, although the client picked a more vibrant colour in this room for a warmer feel.
We also changed the floor covering to the polysafe floor covering, this is durable, easy to clean and is ideal for a commercial building.
