We carry out servicing, installation, and maintenance on all cylinders, these are important storage vessels which should be maintained regularly in order to keep them working safely and efficiently.
In the UK we use 2 main types:
UNVENTED: These supply high pressure water to all hot water outlets and are supplied by the mains incoming water supply. Due to this they do not require stored water, usually found in the loft. With no storage cistern above the cylinder there is nowhere for the water to expand and vent, therefore these cylinders require a discharge pipe which allows water which is either over pressurised or too hot to escape the property without causing a dangerous scenario.
To install and maintain these appliances all our engineers hold a specific qualification called G3 certification. This qualification is updated every 5 years and helps keep our engineers up to date with all the newest legislation on these appliances.
VENTED CYLINDER: These are the most common form of hot water cylinder we use in the UK, these are filled via a storage cistern in above the cylinder. These vent any expanded water up and into the storage cistern and do require any sort of discharge pipe. They supply gravity pressured water (Low pressure) to the outlets.
